TED’s mission of “Ideas Worth Spreading” now reaches far beyond the yearly conferences, encompassing a variety of projects and initiatives that leverage the power of ideas to change the world.
Opportunities
TED Conference partnerships are uniquely created for each sponsor, designed through individual conversations. We work with each partner to determine how their story intersects with our attendees’ interests. Our attendees expect more than the average sponsor booth, and we deliver the opportunity to create exciting spaces and experiences that genuinely contribute to the conference.

Master classes: Based on the interest from the TED community in learning , we’re introducing the “master class,” tutorial style environments for 30-50 TEDsters to learn and engage with partners ready to share knowledge. On Monday morning of TED2012, before the first sessions officially kick off, we’ll bring a university-like environment to Long Beach. Create your own master class schedule building a two hour segment of 30 minute classes. If you’ve recently created a clever new technology, or if your product is simply at its best when seen in action, a workshop provides the opportunity to walk attendees through a hands-on experience.
Creativity lounge: The concept of the creativity lounge was introduced at TED2012 in Long Beach. It’s a dynamic arrangement of cozy spaces to take in the conference that hosts carefully curated editorial exhibits, as well as ideas and innovations from our partners. Here attendees see things like: the newest thinking and products from forward-thinking corporations, creative spaces to tinker and doodle, boutique roasted coffees from world champion baristas, and innovations fresh off the TED stage.
Social spaces (Simulcast lounges): These unique simulcast lounges offer attendees the ability to watch the conference in a relaxed, intimate atmosphere, sparking conversation and interaction. Each space incorporates simulcast viewing as well as a café, and each has its own distinct character, from the Eco Village to the Imaginarium, designed in collaboration with our partners to beckon to their ideal audience.
Lunch salon: By sponsoring a lunch, you can create a platform within TED for the relevant issues and ideas central to your organization’s mission. It’s the ideal way to begin a broad conversation. These lunches work best when the topics are engaging, intriguing and relevant to the TED community. Our partnership team will work with you to select the panelists, recruit participants and structure the lunch.
TEDActive Projects: Explore and collaborate with attendees around topics that are critical to your work and their interests. In past years, the TEDActive community delved into subjects as diverse as travel, sustainability, and social networks, adding their ideas and thinking about how to engage a wider audience. The TED team works with partners to facilitate online collaborations leading up to TEDActive to connect a global community and set the project in motion. On the ground at TEDActive, we document project developments and move forward through a series of intentional interactions leading to ideas that can be shared widely — collaboration is the key.
Creative play: Rekindle an old passion or take a hobby one step further with Creative Play at TEDActive — dive into the world of color and illusion, explore different materials, experiment with creative resources. Creative Play is an incubator for innovation, where a diverse group of TEDsters can realize their creative potential. Come celebrate possibility!
Pay-it-forward program: The TEDActive Pay-it-Forward program is a dedicated scholarship fund that provides an opportunity for game-changing innovators to attend the conference. Hand selected by TED, Pay-it-Forward attendees are working in fields as diverse as aerospace engineering, primatology, design, and architecture and bring a unique point of view to the TEDActive experience.
What we see at TED is this pressure cooker of people who love to spread ideas. That's why they come. They come because they want to hear the next idea and spread it.
