Partner Case Study

Santander

Thinking global and local

Project Description
Amplify: Banks have the privilege of interacting with the economic activity across industries, and the opportunity to influence the construction of a better world.
Activate: Thinking global and local, Banco Santander in Brazil partnered with TED to create a one-day TEDxSantander event. The internal event was organized by and for employees of Banco Santander. Speakers were primarily noteworthy and inspiring employees, launching critical conversations about community organizing and boldly radical solutions to grow their sustainability movement. Santander also amplified their presence in the TEDx thought-leader network by supporting the efforts of other local TEDx organizers. The program included a regional media buy on TED.com, pairing their campaign with all TEDTalks translated into Portuguese and geo-targeting all the TEDTalks watched in the region.
Engage: Santander was able to connect with the TED.com audience in Brazil through advertising. TEDxSantander built new ways of communicating ideas within the organization. Talks didn’t only focus on corporate experiences, but also on life experiences. Attendees discovered incredible stories about their co-workers. For example, one executive uses vacation time to embark on humanitarian expeditions, while another was at one time the founder of a theater company.
